Effective Date: July 30, 2026
ChoiceRoom is designed with maximum privacy in mind. ChoiceRoom does not require account creation, passwords, or personal identity tracking to use.
When you use the ChoiceRoom Chrome Extension or Web Companion App, scraped item data (such as product titles, prices, images, and specifications) is stored locally on your device in standard Chrome extension storage (`chrome.storage.local`) and browser local storage (`localStorage`).
When you generate a shareable decision link (e.g. via WhatsApp, Telegram, or direct URL), ChoiceRoom encodes the selected option metadata into the shareable URL itself so your invited friends can view and vote without needing a backend server database.
The Chrome Extension inspects active tab webpage metadata only when explicitly triggered by the user clicking "Add Page to ChoiceRoom". ChoiceRoom does not track browsing history or run continuous background activity on un-inspected pages.
